EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Technology Steering Team (TST) developed the Duxbury Public Schools' Technology Plan. The TST envisions the Duxbury Public Schools’ educational environment to be infused with technology that, over the life of the plan, will maximize the schools ability to provide optimal learning opportunities of core content supported with the use of technology tools for all students.

The TST is composed of teachers, administrators, school committee members, technology staff, parents, and IT experts from the community. The TST’s charge was to create a plan that will build upon the district’s strong commitment to education supported through the use of various technologies as we align with MA Partnership for 21st Century Skills, and infuse Web 2.0 learning opportunities for all students. The plan is designed to have Duxbury Public Schools serve as a leading community in the effective use of information technologies in education. To ensure the successful outcome of this plan, the TST has identified and set forth eight major goals.

Achievement of the plan’s goals will depend upon the resources available. Funding is paramount to the plan’s success. In addition to local funding, the district's Technology Department will continue to search for alternative funding sources.
